We’re getting ready to hold our very first MELT meeting, and we want you there.
This will be a virtual gathering on Zoom where we will introduce our mission, talk through the work ahead, and begin organizing as a calm, united voice of reason in response to the cruelty and lawlessness we are seeing from ICE and other agencies.
If you feel helpless watching families torn apart on the news, or heartbroken seeing masked men detain people without badges or warrants, this meeting is a way to turn that feeling into action.

Before You Attend our First Meeting:
How We Meet Matters
MELT meetings are built on mutual respect, shared purpose, and a commitment to staying focused. We gather to take action, but we also gather with intention. Our guidelines help ensure that every voice is heard, that we stay on mission, and that we treat one another with the same dignity we’re fighting for.
At every MELT meeting:
- We open with something hopeful.
- We use group votes to make decisions.
- We speak one at a time and listen fully.
- We respect differences and remember our common ground.
- We take ownership of our words and actions.
- We apologize when needed and move forward together.
- We keep the focus on families affected by ICE.
- We refrain from introducing unrelated or divisive issues during meeting time.
These principles help us stay clear, calm, and united in a time when that kind of leadership is urgently needed.
